SCRANTON, Pa. - The University of Scranton field hockey team remained unbeaten with a 9-0 win over visiting Goucher College in a Landmark Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
- Scranton (11-0, 3-0 Landmark) just 2:39 into the contest as Bridget Abraldes scored after her initial shot was saved by Goucher (1-9, 0-3) goalie Devin Brashear (Escondido, Calif. / San Pasqual)
- The Royals scored again at 4:32 and 7:43 to take a 3-0 lead after one quarter.
- Scranton scored twice in the 26th minute and again 22 seconds before halftime.
- Gopher relief goalie Julia Foster (Pylesville, Md. / North Harford) made her first save of the game with just over a minute left.
- The Royals posted four shots in the frame, with both shots on goal stopped by Foster.
- Foster's first save came in the 33rd minute and the second with just over two minutes to go.
- The hosts found the back of the cage four times in the final frame, with the final goal coming with 1:13 left.
- Foster made a pair of saves before being relieved by Gillian Sickler (Alexandria, Va. / West Potomac) for the final seven minutes.
- Scranton finished with 31 shots and 13 penalty corners on the afternoon.
- Brashear made three saves in the first quarter before giving way to Foster, who stopped five shots.
- Sickler made one save and surrendered two goals in her stint in goal.
- Goucher hosts Catholic on Wednesday at 7 pm in Landmark Conference action at Beldon Field.
