Gophers Fall to Drew in OT

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Drew University scored 2:56 into the first overtime to lift it to a 2-1 Landmark College field hockey win over Goucher College Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field.
- Drew's (4-10, 1-4 Landmark) Janelle Arch had the first shot of the game at the 6:09 mark that was turned aside by Goucher (1-11, 0-5) goalie Devin Brashear (Escondido, Calif. / San Pasqual).
- The Rangers generated a penalty corner moments later but did not get a shot off.
- Brashear made another save on Arch just over five minutes in.
- The Rangers took a 1-0 lead with just over four minutes to go before halftime as Arch scored following a corner, with Lauren Cagliostro assisting.
- Hannah Washburn (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Mendon) had a shot for the Gophers that was blocked with 2:16 to go before halftime.
- Tyler Olivio had a shot saved by Brashear 4:27 into the second half.
- The Gophers generated a corner in the 37th minute, with Washburn putting a shot on goal that was saved by Olyvia Jackson.
- Following a corner just past the 41-minute mark, Amita Chatterjee (Silver Spring, Md. / Wheaton) tipped home a shot from the point by Alexyss Pawlak (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Edison) for Chatterjee's fourth goal of the season.
- Goucher had back-to-back corners just over three minutes in.
- A shot by Drew's Trisha Dominick was saved by Brashear with just under nine minutes left.
- Goucher had a shot by Mia Wiggins (San Diego, Calif. / University City) saved by Jackson with 7:34 to play.
- The Rangers had three shots on goal, including one by Cagliostro off a corner with a minute left, but all three were stopped by Brashear.
- On a penalty corner, shots by Dominick and Arch were stopped by Brashear, before Arch collected her own rebound and fired it home 2:56 into overtime for the game-winner.
- Drew held a 13-6 shot advantage on the afternoon, with the Gophers building an 8-7 penalty corner lead.
- Brashear made nine saves for Goucher, while Jackson recorded a pair of stops.
- Pawlak's assist was the first of her collegiate career.
