Nine Gophers Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad
BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Nine members of the Goucher College field hockey team were named to the 2021 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad announced on Thursday. Over 2,300 student-athletes from 161 Division III institutions were selected for the honor.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
Named to the team for the Gophers were seniors Devin Brashear (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual), Emily Postlethwait (Herndon, Va./Herndon), Jaime Roche (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Technical), Hannah Washburn (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) and Mia Wiggins (San Diego, Calif./University City), juniors Amita Chatterjee (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) and Brighid Kowal (Silver Spring, Md./Northwood) and freshmen Daryn Carter (Dover, Pa./Dover Area) and Zoe Mikles (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford).
All five seniors for Goucher were honored for the fourth time.
