AMHERST, Va. - Host Sweet Briar recorded a goal in each quarter as it posted a 4-0 non-conference field hockey victory over Goucher College Saturday afternoon at Amherst County High School.
- Sweet Briar (1-1) had the game's first three shots in a 55-second span just past the five-minute mark.
- The Vixens scored the first goal of the game off a penalty corner at 7:48.
- The hosts outshot Goucher (0-1) 5-0 in the first period.
- The Gophers had their first shot 1:39 into the second quarter as Zoe Mikles (Jarrettsville, Md. / North Harford) had a shot that was saved by SBC goalie Ashley Maggiora.
- Goucher generated a penalty corner following the shot.
- Avery Jones made it 2-0 in favor of the Vixens just over five minutes into the second.
