Goucher pushes past Chargers for first win of the season

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College field hockey team pushed past Lancaster Bible College for its first win of the season by a score of 4-1 Tuesday night at Beldon Field. First year Rylie Belauskas (San Diego, CA.) had two goals.
- Goucher (1-2) had the offensive pressure early following shots from Belauskas and Maria Campbell (Cumberland, Maine)
- Goucher broke the stalemate early in the second quater off of a corner from Amita Chatterjee (Silver Spring, Md.) which Daryn Carter (Dover, Pa.) put in the back of the net. It marked the first collegiate goal for Carter.
- Belauskas added onto the lead four minutes later in the 22nd minute with her first goal of the night
- Goucher's Brighid Kowal (Silver Spring, Md.) drew a green card for the Gophers, their only of the game.
- A few minutes later, Lancaster Bible (0-4) got on the board off of a Haley Stahl penalty stroke
- The third quarter was mostly quiet with both teams trading possesion back and fourth
- Eight minutes into the 3rd, Belauskas scored her second off of an assist from Macy Motovidlak (Wittman, Md.)
- A minute into the fourth, Motovidlak scored her first goal of the night on a breakaway for the Gophers, her first collegiate tally.
- LBC had a few opportunities early in the fourth off of some penalty corners by Molly Gray, all were turned aside by the Gophers defense and senior goalie Julia Foster (Pylesville, Md.).
- Foster made two saves on three shots on goal
- Charger goalie Amanda Hoover made four saves on eight shots seen.
- Goucher outshot Lancaster 13-4 and had the advantage in corners 7-3.
