Eleven Gophers Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad
MANAHAWKIN, N.J. - A total of 11 members of the Goucher College field hockey team were named to the 2023 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad announced on Wednesday. Nearly 1,800 student-athletes from 154 Division III institutions were selected for the honor.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
Named to the team for Goucher were senior Daryn Carter, juniors Kaitlyn Bucci and Zoe Mikles, sophomores Maddie Fisher, Riley Peery and Isa Schenk and first years Julia Blondell, Katie Bloom, Angelena Holmes, Baylee Klose and Camden West.
Carter was one of 291 seniors nationwide recognized for being named to the National Academic Squad for the fourth time.
