Benjamin Tops Among Scorers, Rebounders
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — 12:05 into tonight's contest, Albright had opened up a 31-6 edge and never looked back, coasting to a 69-48 victory.
Albright (10-1) received 15 points in the first half from Zach Benjamin as the team took a 45-15 edge into intermission.
Out of the break, Goucher (3-8) fought hard, outscoring the Lions in the second half 30-24, but it was far too little, too late.
Richard Harris (Clinton, Md./Surrattsville) scored all 13 of his points in the second-half, giving him enough for top scoring honors among Goucher players. Benjamin scored just two points in the second half, but still led all scorers with 17. He also had the most rebounds in the game, 7.
Albright made half of their 56 field goal attempts in the victory while holding Goucher to just 29.6% shooting from the field.
Albright returns from their winter trip 2-0 after dispatching of Muhlenberg in the Puerto Rico Classico's first game. Goucher fell to Muhlenberg in yesterday's second game.
