Royals Turn Back Gophers, Crush Playoff Hopes
SCRANTON, Pa. — Goucher, which went into its final game of the regular season needing a victory over Scranton and loads of help in order to snare the final spot in the Landmark Conference's upcoming championship tournament, couldn't pull off what it needed to do. The Gophers, despite a 29-point performance by sophomore forward Julian Livingston (Bowie, Md./Fairmont Heights) bowed to the Royals, 93-76, this afternoon, bringing down the curtain of their 2013-14 campaign.

Gophers Earn Split Thanks to Superior FT Shooting
TOWSON, Md. — After a layup by Troy DeShields (Seaford, Del./Sussex Technical) wiped out Goucher's two-point deficit against Drew and created a 62-62 tie with 2:19 remaining, this evening's Landmark Conference contest between the Gophers and the Rangers came down to which team could make its free throws.

Mariners Outlast Gophers in Offensive Slugfest
KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Goucher entered this afternoon’s contest at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy knowing that a win would get the team right back in the Landmark Conference playoff picture. The Gophers were only a game back of the fourth and final playoff spot heading into today’s games, and they were only a half-game behind the Mariners for sixth place.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's Landmark Conference game against Susquehanna tonight would have never gone into overtime had Julian Livingston (Bowie, Md./Fairmont Heights) not been fouled on a 3-point attempt and made all three free throws with two-tenths of a second remaining in regulation.

MADISON, N.J. — Goucher reversed a season-long trend of getting off to slow starts, jumping out to an early 28-17 advantage this afternoon at Drew. The Gophers could not, however, continue their early momentum, falling behind 39-38 by halftime and ultimately dropping a 79-74 decision to the Rangers.

Gophers Suffer Tight Home Defeat to Eagles
TOWSON, Md. — After surrendering 15 of the game’s first 18 points, Goucher’s defense produced its second-best performance of the season. Its offense, however, was never able to get fully in-sync, sending the Gophers to a 60-57 loss at home to Juniata this evening.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher suffered only its second loss at home this season, but the 90-76 setback to Scranton in the Decker Sports & Recreation Center this evening proved costly to the Gophers as it kept them from owning sole possession of second place in the Landmark Conference.

Goucher to Honor 1993-94 Title Team on Feb. 15
In 1994, male students and men’s athletics were still a bit of a novelty on campus. The college had only made the historic decision to go co-ed seven years earlier. Men’s basketball, which was introduced in 1990, was a fledgling sport at Goucher.
