Men’s Basketball Falls at Home to Salisbury
TOWSON, Md - Visiting Salisbury used a scoring run at the end of the first half to go up double-digits, then never looked back, as the Goucher men’s basketball team fell to the Seagulls, 92-50, on Saturday in nonconference action at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.

With the defeat, Goucher dropped to 0-2 on the young season, while Salisbury improved to 2-0 with the victory.
In the opening half, Goucher was able to stay within striking distance of Salisbury for the majority of the period, as they trailed by six points (26-20) with 6:36 left in the frame. But, the Seagulls ended the first half on a tear, finishng the period on a 20-8 run to go up 46-28 into intermission.
Throughout the second half, Salisbury was able to distance themselves, eventually opening an insurmountable 60-35 lead with 14 minutes to go in regulation. From there, the Seagulls coasted down the stretch, on their way to a victory on the road over the Gophers.
Overall for Goucher in the loss, the Gophers were led in the scoring column by junior Uvan Stewart (Frederick, Md./Saint Maria Goretti), who finished with a team-high 10 points. Elsewhere, freshman Jacob Smith (Callaway, Va./Franklin County) and sophomore Dwayne Morton (Waynesville, Mo./Waynesville) finished with eight points, apiece, to round out the leaders for Goucher.
Salisbury was led by Gary Briddell in the win, who scored a game-high 20 points off the Seagulls bench.
The Goucher College men's basketball team returns to action tomorrow, as they host Washington (Md.) at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
