Green Perfect From The Field in Gophers' Setback at DelVal

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Despite Goucher College senior Darrell Green going 8-8 from the floor, host Delaware Valley University took control midway through the second half and went on to post a 86-69 non-conference men's basketball victory over the Gophers at James Work Gymnasium Tuesday afternoon.
- The lead changed hands five times in the first five-plus minutes of the game, with a basket by Jaden Workman putting Goucher (3-6) up 9-7.
- Four straight Delaware Valley (6-4) points put the hosts up 12-11 with 12:23 to go in the opening frame.
- The Gophers took their largest lead of the first half, 23-19, on a basket by Liech Kong with 7:39 left before halftime.
- DelVal scored the next four points before a Green three at the 4:44 mark put the Gophers back in front, 26-23.
- The Aggies tied the game five times before scoring the last five points of the half to take a 39-36 lead into the break.
- The first half saw nine ties and 10 lead changes and neither side leading by more than four.
- An Onterio Miller three just over two minutes into the second half cut the Aggie lead to two, 41-39.
- Delaware Valley scored the next five points before back-to-back layups by Kong and Green made it 46-43 with 16:01 on the clock.
- A 10-0 DelVal run capped by back-to-back threes made it a 56-43 game with 13:11 left.
- A Brandon Joseph layup halted the run with 12:41 to go.
- Goucher chipped away and a Peter Capan three just past the midway point pulled the guests within eight, 63-55.
- DelVal answered with an 11-2 run to go up 74-57 with just over six minutes left.
- Green connected on all eight of his field goal attempts and was 3-3 behind the arc en route to a season-high 19 points, two shy of his career high.
- Kong was the other Gopher in double figures, recording 11 points and grabbing six rebounds.

- Goucher shot 56% (14-25) in the opening 20 minutes and 47.1% for the game. The Gophers were 7-18 behind the arc and 14-15 at the free throw line.
- Delaware Valley shot 55.9% in the second half and 49.3% for the contest, going 9-26 from three and 9-14 at the charity stripe.
