Gophers Make Last Run in See-Saw Battle With Lycoming

TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College first year Liech Kong put in a career-high 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while sophomore Jacob Morgan also posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists as the Gophers held visiting Lycoming College without a field goal for the game's final 5:50 en route to a 75-67 Landmark Conference men's basketball victory Friday afternoon at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
- Kong had the game's first five points for Goucher (5-10, 3-5 Landmark) after a three 1:15 into the game.
- Down 9-4, Lycoming (6-9, 2-6) reeled off 13 straight points to take a 17-9 lead at the 11:39 mark.
- A Morgan layup 15 seconds later halted the Gopher drought.
- The Warriors went up 11, 24-13, 8:38 before intermission.
- An 8-2 Goucher spurt capped by a basket by Jaden Workman with 7:06 on the clock made it 26-21.
- Lycoming took a 37-26 lead on two free throws with 1:14 left.
- Back-to-back threes by Onterio Miller and Can Dalli in the final minute cut the lead back to five, 37-32, before a layup at the buzzer by the guests put them up seven at the break.
- Goucher outscored Lycoming 13-6 over the first five minutes of the second half and a Morgan three tied the game 45-45.
- A Miller three at the 14:23 mark put the Gophers back in front, 48-45.
- Lycoming used an 8-0 run to go up 55-49 with just under 12 minutes to go.

- Kong finished 8-12 from the floor and 4-7 behind the arc en route to his career-high 21. His 12 rebounds were one shy of his career high of 13 set earlier this season at Moravian.
- Morgan was 7-11 from the floor and also had five steals to go along with his career-best 10 assists.
- Miller was 5-6 behind the arc and 6-8 overall as he finished with 17 points off the bench.

- Goucher matched its season-best by shooting 28-54 (51.9%) from the floor.
- The Gophers matched a school record with 14 three-point field goals, going 14-29 (48.3%) from long range. Goucher also made 14 threes against St. Joseph's (N.Y.) in 1990 and St. Mary's (Md.) in 2006.
- Lycoming, which outrebounded Goucher 33-29, shot 46.3% overall, but was just 4-16 behind the arc and 13-17 at the free throw line.
- Goucher has won three of its last four home games at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
