Bio

Steve Bageant enters his second season under Coach Tom Rose for the Goucher College men’s basketball program. As the graduate assistant he is responsible for assisting Coach Rose in all aspects of the program.

Bageant is a Baltimore native who has been involved with Baltimore basketball since 2003. In high school he played for the late Bob Flynn at Cardinal Gibbons School, which is a member of the MIAA 'A' Conference and the Baltimore Catholic League. In 2004 his team competed in the ‘A’ Conference championship but came up short against Rudy Gay and Archbishop Spalding High School.

After Gibbons, Bageant attended West Virginia University where served as a student manager for two seasons in Morgantown. During that time the Mountaineers compiled a 49-20 record, earning a spot in the Sweet 16 and following it with an NIT Championship.

Prior to joining the Gophers staff in the summer of 2015, Bageant spent six years at St. Paul's School as the head JV and assistant Varsity coach. During his time at St. Paul's the program won three MIAA 'B' Conference championships while reaching the playoffs five out of the six seasons.

Bageant is avery active in working basketball camps over the summer, including working and coaching at the Hoop Group Elite Camps.

Bageant earned a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Coaching Education in 2009 from West Virginia University, with a minor in Sport & Exercise Psychology. He is currently enrolled in Goucher’s graduate program working toward a Master’s degree in Education.
