Gallegos, Gophers Finish Fourth at The Kiln
WASHINGTON, N.J. - Goucher College men's golf first year Jose Maria Gallegos (Ahome, Mexico / Montverde Academy) finished fourth to lead the Gophers to a fourth place finish out of seven teams at The Kiln Intercollegiate at Hawk Pointe Golf Club on Sunday. Goucher finished with a score of 304 on Sunday and a two-day total of 604. Stevens won the tournament with a score of 584.
Gallegos fired a one-under 71 on Sunday to finish even for the tournament with a 144 after he shot a 73 on Saturday. Gallegos' 71 is the lowest individual round by a Goucher men's golfer since the 2018-19 season.
Nick Fisher (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) carded a 77 on Sunday and finished at 153 for the tournament to finish tied for 14th. Matias Agrendo Lovo (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico / Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola) recorded his second straight 78 to wrap up the tournament 21st.
Miguel Reider (Mexico City, Mexico / Tecnológico de Monterrey) bettered his round by three shots on Sunday and posted a 78 and a two-day total of 159. Khai Buttner (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin) and Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen / Harens Lyceum) each finished at 162 over two rounds.
Goucher returns to action Thursday when it competes in the Elizabethtown Spring Invitational at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
