Men's Golf to Host Landmark Conference Championship Friday and Saturday

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's golf team will serve as host for the 2022 Landmark Conference Men's Golf Championship this Friday and Saturday (April 15-16) at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville. The first tee time for both days is set for 11:00 am.
Goucher, which captured the first three Landmark Conference championships from 2018-20 before not competing last spring, hosted the one-day Landmark Conference Preview at Woodholme back in October. The Gophers and Scranton both finished with a team score of 331 on the par-73, 6,969-yard layout, with the Royals edging the Gophers on tiebreak criteria. Catholic finished third, just one shot back. The Gophers feature a balanced lineup with all five players averaging between 78.9 and 82.2 shots per round. Khai Buttner (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin) and Jose Maria Gallegos (Ahome, Mexico/Montverde Academy) have each averaged 78.9 over 12 rounds this season. Gallegos has a win at the Virginia Wesleyan Marlin Invitational in March, two top-5 and three top-10 finishes, while Buttner has two top-5 finishes to his credit.
Nick Fisher (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) has played a team-high 13 rounds and averaged 80.8. He was a Landmark Conference Second Team All-Conference performer in 2019. Miguel Reider (Mexico City, Mexico / Tecnológico de Monterrey) is averaging 81.9, while Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen / Harens Lyceum) is averaging 82.2 over 11 rounds. Winter has a pair of top-10 finishes.
At the Landmark Preview, Goucher placed three players in the top six and four in the top 11. Buttner (81), Winter (82) and Fisher (83) finished 4-5-6 while Gallegos finished tied for 11th with an 85. Scranton's Ethan Zawatski and Drew's Mike Ford finished tied for 1st at 77.
Catholic captured the 2021 Landmark Conference championship with a one-day score of 299.
