Gophers Set Single-Round Scoring Record at Cardinal Spring Classic
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Goucher College men's golf "B" team set a program record by posting a team score of 295 in Saturday's opening round of the Cardinal Spring Classic hosted by Catholic University at Black Rock Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday. The Gophers posted a two-day score of 613 to place seventh out of 12 teams.
Saturday's score of 295 (+9) eclipsed the previous best score of 297 (+9) set at the Don Scalf Invitational on September 24, 2017.
Senior Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen / Harens Lyceum) finished tied for 12th with a two-day score of 148. His opening round even-par 72 was a personal best. First year Andy Garcia (A Coruña Galicia, Spain / Colegio Plurilingüe Compañia de María) also shot 72 on Saturday and his two-day score of 153 placed him tied for 22nd.
Evan Yue (Beijing, China/IMG Academy) finished at 155 and was tied for 32nd after an opening round 75. Kaman Wilkinson (Granbury, Texas/Godley) shot 76 on Saturday and 161 for the tournament, while Tomas Rodriguez (Richmond, Texas / George Bush) posted a 169 over two days.
Goucher returns to action on Monday, April 3 as the B team competes at the Muhlenberg Spring Invitational.
