TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's golf team is set to compete at the 2023 Landmark Conference Men's Golf Championship on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. This year's championship will be hosted by Susquehanna at Mountain View Country Club in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
Goucher, which captured the first three Landmark Conference men's golf championships, finished fifth in a tightly-contested 2022 championship that saw the top five teams finish within 14 shots of each other. Drew University is the defending conference champion.
The Gophers enter the championship on a roll, having finished in the top four of each of their last three tournaments. In its most recent outing, the Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational on April 17, Goucher placed fourth out of 13 teams with a one-day score of 308.
Evan Yue (Beijing, China/IMG Academy) has led Goucher after rejoining the program at the semester break. Yue, a two-time All-Conference performer who earned First Team honors in 2019, has posted an average of 77.6 over 10 rounds. He has finished in the top 10 of Goucher's last three tournaments, including a second-place finish at the DuPont Invitational April 10-11.
Tim Winter (Howey In The Hills, Groningen / Harens Lyceum) and Khai Buttner (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin) are also averaging under 80, with Winter at 79.0 and Buttner at 79.5. Buttner earned Second Team All-Conference honors last season after finishing seventh at the Landmark Championship.
Andy Garcia (A Coruña Galicia, Spain / Colegio Plurilingüe Compañia de María) and Kaman Wilkinson (Granbury, Texas / Godley) round out Goucher's lineup. Garcia has averaged 80.8 over a team-high 20 rounds, while Wilkinson has an 83.7 average but shot a season-best 79 in his last outing at the Knights Invitational on April 13.
