TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's golf team will compete at the 2024 Landmark Conference Men's Golf Championship on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pennsylvania. A dual championship with the Landmark Women's Golf Championship, men's action tees off at 9 am each day on the par-72, 6725-yard layout.
Goucher was selected to finish third in the Landmark pre-championship poll released last week, behind Drew University and Catholic University. The Gophers finished second at the Landmark Preview in October at Shawnee, totaling 611 over two days to trail Drew.
The Gophers enter this weekend's championship having won two of their last three tournaments, and Goucher has not finished lower than fifth all spring. In its most recent tournament, Goucher took first at the Stevenson Spring Invitational, edging the host Mustangs by one shot.
Goucher's lineup consists of graduate student Evan Yue, first year Riley Ruby, senior Khai Buttner, sophomore Andy Hill Garcia and first year Mikolaj Pula.
Yue, who placed second at the Preview, leads the Gophers with a 75.5 stroke average, four top-5 and five top-10 finishes on the season. He was a First Team All-Conference performer in 2019. Ruby has been impressive in his rookie campaign with an average round of 77 over a team-high 19 rounds. Buttner, a two-time Landmark All-Conference performer, checks in with a 77.8 average and three top-10s.
Garcia enters the weekend with a 77.7 average and a pair of top-10s, while Pula sports an 80.1 average and nine of his 12 rounds being under 81.
Goucher, which won the first three Landmark Conference men's golf championships from 2018-20, finished fifth in last season's championship.
