Gophers Sit Fifth After Landmark Opening Round
SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. - The Goucher College men's golf team sits fifth out of 10 teams after the first round of the Landmark Conference Men's Golf Championship at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort on Saturday. The Gophers posted an opening round 311, sitting just five shots behind third place Catholic and two shots back of fourth place Moravian.
Drew (293) and Scranton (296) occupy the top two spots.
Sophomore Andy Hill Garcia led the Gophers with a four-over 76 to sit in a four-way tie for ninth out of 49 golfers. Garcia finished with three birdies in his round.
Senior Khai Buttner finished at 77 in Saturday's first round to tie for 13th overall, while Evan Yue and Riley Ruby each finished at 79 and sit tied for 21st.
Mikolaj Pula finished his round at 84 to round out the Gopher finishers.
Sunday's second and final round begins at 9 am, with the Gophers teeing off at approximately 9:45 am.
