Q&A With Men's Lacrosse Eric Conaway On Selling Shoes On Social Media
During the week of December 14-18, the Landmark Conference is feature Goucher College. Today, men's lacrosse sophomore Eric Conaway discusses his internship experience with selling shoes.
Conaway buys shoes from the shoe app GOAT. During the internship he sold many shoes like Air Force 1s, Nike x Off-White collab shoes, and Comme De Garçon x Converse shoes. He post the shoes on social media like Snapchat and Instagram and would also sell some of the shoes on Sneaker/Clothing apps like Depop and GOAT.
Describe your overall internship/volunteer experience.
My experience with my internship has definitely been a learning experience while also being very fun.
What have you learned from your experience?
From this opportunity I've learned the different values of different types of shoes while also picking up some negotiating skills too.
How will this internship help you in your career moving forward?
This experience just open my eyes to the many different ways of income you can make in today's market.
What kind of networking have you done at your internship/volunteering?
As far as networking, I've made many relationships with people who stated they would love to keep doing business with me in the future while also getting tips from other salesmen in my field.
Do you have a favorite experience or story? If so, what was it?
One of my favorite experiences was being able to put a smile on two of my friend's face as I completed sales with them.
