Justin Lugo Nabs Landmark Men's Lacrosse Defensive Honors
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's lacrosse senior goalie Justin Lugo (Davie, Fla./Saint Andrew's School) was named the Landmark Conference men's lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon after his role in the Gophers' 16-7 win over Juniata to open conference play on Saturday.
Lugo stopped 13 of the 20 shots on goal for Goucher, good for a .650 save percentage. The senior, who captured Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week accolades for the third time in his career, also collected five ground balls.
Lugo has started all 10 games in goal for the Gophers this season and has made 146 saves and owns a .562 save percentage. He leads the conference in saves and ranks second in save percentage, trailing only Justin Toney of Juniata.
Goucher returns to action Saturday, traveling to Susquehanna for a 1 pm Landmark Conference contest.
