Justin Lugo Named Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's lacrosse fifth-year senior goalie Justin Lugo (Davie, Fla./St. Andrew's) was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.  It marks the fourth time in his career Lugo has earned the award.

Lugo stopped 15 of the 19 shots he faced in Saturday's season-opening 7-4 win over Methodist University, good for a .789 save percentage.  He also picked up a pair of ground balls as the Gophers opened the season with a victory for the first time since 2018.

Over his career, Lugo has started all 35 games he has appeared in and crossed the 500-save career threshold Saturday, and now has 514 for his career.

Goucher returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Berry College in a 3 pm game at Beldon Field.
