Lugo Grabs Landmark Weekly Honors for Second Time
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's lacrosse senior goalie Justin Lugo (Davie, Fla./Saint Andrew's School) was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon. It marks the second time this season and fifth time in his career Lugo has earned the award.
Lugo stopped 15 of the 20 shots he faced in Saturday's 14-5 win over Juniata on the road. He stopped six of the seven shots that he faced in the second half as Goucher outscored the Eagles 9-1 over the final 30 minutes to pull away for the win. Lugo also moved into third place in program history in career saves Saturday and now has 648 for his career.
Lugo ranks third in the conference in save percentage (.587), third in saves per game (13.55) and fourth in goals against average (9.87). His 648 career saves rank fourth among active Division III goalies.
Goucher returns to action Saturday, April 8 when it hosts Drew in a 1 pm Landmark Conference contest at Beldon Field.
