Justin Lugo Named to USILA Division III Team of the Week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Goucher College men's lacrosse senior goalie Justin Lugo (Davie, Fla./Saint Andrew's School) was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week for April 3, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Just 10 student-athletes from across Division III are selected to the team each week.
Earlier this week Lugo was honored as the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Lugo stopped 15 of the 20 shots he faced in Saturday's 14-5 win over Juniata on the road. He stopped six of the seven shots that he faced in the second half as Goucher outscored the Eagles 9-1 over the final 30 minutes to pull away for the win. Lugo also moved into third place in program history in career saves Saturday and now has 648 for his career.
Lugo ranks third in the conference in save percentage (.587), third in saves per game (13.55) and fourth in goals against average (9.87). His 648 career saves rank fourth among active Division III goalies.
Goucher returns to action Saturday, April 8 when it hosts Drew in a 1 pm Landmark Conference contest at Beldon Field.
