Sean Nolan Garners Landmark Defensive Accolades
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College men's lacrosse senior defender Sean Nolan was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon after leading the Gophers defensively in a pair of non-conference victories.
Nolan, who hails from Las Vegas, Nevada, totaled seven caused turnovers and nine ground balls in a 2-0 week. Nolan racked up five caused turnovers and six ground balls as Goucher clamped down on Delaware Valley for a 15-7 victory on Saturday. Tuesday night, in an 8-7 win over Curry, Nolan had a pair of caused turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
On the season, Nolan has racked up 25 caused turnovers in eight games and picked up 26 ground balls. He ranks second in the Landmark Conference and No. 15 in Division III in caused turnovers per game.
Goucher, 6-2 overall, opens Landmark Conference play Saturday on the road at conference preseason favorite Elizabethtown College.
