Bio

Matt Parks was named the defensive coordinator for the Goucher men's lacrosse program for the 2023 season after spending two seasons primarily working with goalkeepers and running the substitution box. Matt came to Goucher after a long stint as head coach at nearby Fallston High School in Harford County.

While at Fallston as head coach from 2000-2007 and 2010-2018, Matt accrued a career record of 235 wins and 70 losses, winning five Maryland State Championships, 10 Conference Championships, eight Region championships amassing a career win percentage against conference opponents of 91%.

At Fallston, Matt had the honor of mentoring 18 All-Americans, 4 C Markland Kelly Award Division winners and hundreds of players that went on to enjoy outstanding careers at the Collegiate and professional level including a Division III defensive player of the year. Matt also had the pleasure of coaching two Goucher alums in all-time Career Face Off win Leader Jerod Richardson and stand out midfielder Brent Shea.

In Between his stints as head coach at Fallston, Matt was the Senior Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator for Washington College of the Centennial Conference for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

While at Washington College, Matt mentored two All-American attackmen while helping the Shoremen reach the NCAA Quarterfinals, 5th Ranked Team in the country and the 5th best Extra-Man percentage in the Country.

Matt is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park where he played in every game for the Terrapins in his collegiate career. Matt led the Terrapins in goals both his Junior and Senior year, earning ACC Player of the Week honors two times. Matt was a member of the 1991 Final Four team and named to the North/South All Star team in 1994.

Coach Parks currently is a financial planner with Mid-Atlantic Financial Group/Prudential Advisors. His wife, Trista, is an elementary school teacher in Baltimore County and they have one son, Grayson.
