TOWSON, MD — Certainly the most prestigious of all
of the postseason accolades for Goucher's Gary Decker
(Gambrills, MD/Archbishop Spalding) was announced today
— recognition as an all-region performer in 2006 by the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Decker, one of six seniors who played for the Gophers this season,
was awarded a spot as a midfielder on the 2006 NSCAA/adidas NCAA
Division III Men's All-South Region Team, which was determined
through a vote by Division III coaches throughout the region.
In his final season with the Gophers, Decker tallied six goals and
handed out five assists for a team-leading total of 17 points.
Earlier, Decker was recognized as a first-team midfielder by the
Capital Athletic Conference and a third-team all-region performer
by the website D3kicks.com.
