TOWSON, Md. - Goucher remained unbeaten at home this season by beating Hood, 4-2, today on Beldon Field.
Julien Greco (Shutesbury, MA/St. George's School) set up the first goal of the game by Evan Rosse (Bedford, MA/Bedford) at 7:41, picking up his third assist of the season, and just :14 later, the sophomore forward tallied an unassisted goal that provided the Gophers (4-7-1) with a quick 2-0 lead. The goal was Greco's fourth of the season, while Rosse became the 14th player to score a goal for Goucher in 2007.
Nat Keller (Evanston, IL/Evanston Twp.) was awarded his team-leading fourth assist of the season on a goal by Galen Guindon (Wallingford, PA/Friends Central) at 15:16 that put the Gophers ahead 3-0.
The Blazers (4-10) got on the scoreboard two minutes into the second half on a goal by Shane McCarrick, but the Gophers regained a three-goal advantage in the 49th minute when a Hood foul set the stage for Tim McMullen (Millersville, MD/Old Mill) to play a perfect ball to Rosse, who collected his second goal of the contest.
Playing at home for only the second time since their 3-2 triumph over Washington (Md.) on Sept. 12, the Gophers improved to 4-0-1 at Beldon Field this season.
