The two teams traded goals in the opening period. The Gophers (6-4-1) went ahead 1-0 when Andrew Bull (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) notched his team-leading fifth goal of the season at 18:39, but the Chargers (9-3-1) caught up when Kyle Zook scored at 33:55.
Emmet Sellars (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) set up Berger's goal that snapped the 1-1 tie and both he and Julien Greco (Shutesbury, Mass./St. George's School) were awarded assists on Rosse's goal that put Goucher in front 3-1.
Lancaster Bible closed to within 3-2 when Zook scored again with 2:57 remaining in regulation and the Chargers managed to get on final shot off with :20 left to play, but Neil Hobbins (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.), who replaced Joey Granic (Westminster, Md./Westminster) in goal for Goucher in the 78th minute, made an easy save on the attempt to preserve the win.
