TOWSON, Md. — After roaming the sidelines for the past nine
seasons as Goucher College's head men's soccer coach, Gary Dunda
has submitted his resignation. In it, he informed the school's
athletic administration that he is leaving to become the head coach
at Geneva College.
"This was a very difficult decision for me to make because I have thoroughly enjoyed my nine seasons at Goucher," Dunda offered following his resignation. "I leave here with tremendous memories of hard-fought victories and powerful relationships with players that have been cultivated over my time spent at Goucher."
Dunda, one of only four head coaches in the 19-year history of Goucher's men's soccer program, was selected Coach of the Year in the Capital Athletic Conference in 2003.
"There's absolutely no doubt that the soccer program is in a much better position now than it was when Gary first joined our coaching staff nearly a decade ago," commented Geoff Miller, Goucher's athletic director. "Gary's work ethic is outstanding and we will miss the many contributiuons he made to our athletic family. Our loss is certainly Geneva College's gain, and I wish him and his family the very best in the years ahead."
"I want to thank Mr. Miller for giving me this opportunity to coach at an outstanding Division III institution, for his guidance and his support," Dunda said. "We just concluded a very productive spring season with the group of returning players and, with the addition of a very strong and talented class of recruits, I see a very bright future for Goucher men's soccer."
The search for a full-time head men's soccer coach will begin immediately.
