BETHLEHEM, Pa. — It was wet, windy and cold — and less
than four minutes in, Goucher was down, 1-0. It didn't get any
better the rest of the way for the Gophers, who were beaten today,
3-0, by Moravian in a Landmark Conference game played on a
synthetic turf field at Liberty High School.
The Greyhounds (4-8-2, 2-2 Landmark) were limited to only one shot the entire first half, but it turned out to be an unassisted goal by Kyle Jablon at 3:19. Nearly as quickly at the start of the second period, Moravian took a 2-0 lead on a goal by Mike Dobbins that was set up by Michael Tarulli.
An unassisted goal by John Pavia with 11:17 left to play closed out the scoring.
Tim Dollarton, starting goalkeeper for Moravian, earned the shutout by making saves on five of the eight shots the Gophers (6-8-1, 0-4 Landmark) were able to get off.
