Landmark Reveals All-Academic Team for Fall 2012

TOWSON, Md. — The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 32 student-athletes who make up the 2012 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions.

Landmark Conference Issues Fall Academic Honor Roll

TOWSON, Md. — The Landmark Conference, which is in its sixth year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 235 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the on the 2012 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Twenty-four of the honorees are from Goucher.

TOWSON, Md. — Nate Margolis (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) set up the only goal of the contest tonight as Goucher brought down the curtain on its 2012 campaign by turning back Rosemont, 1-0.

Own Goal Gets Gophers on Scoreboard vs. Bobcats

FROSTBURG, Md. — Once Goucher sliced a 2-0 lead for Frostburg St. in half midway through the first half of tonight's game, the Gophers were able to keep the score at 2-1 for more than 40 minutes. The Bobcats, however, were able to tack on another goal in the 68th minute and then held on for a 3-1 victory.

Gophers Rout Greyhounds to Conclude Conference Play

TOWSON, Md. — Nate Margolis (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) led the Landmark Conference in assists last season and his two assist effort today, along with a goal, gave him the conference lead in assists this year and helped the Gophers to a 5-0 win.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Goucher stayed within a goal of Catholic well into the second half of this afternoon's Landmark Conference contest before the same player scored twice in a span of less than five minutes to propel the Cardinals past the Gophers, 3-0.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher surrendered three goals in the opening 16:08 of today's Landmark Confernce game against Susquehanna, but the Gophers managed to minimize the damage the rest of the first half and still trailed just 3-0 after 45 minutes.

Time Runs Out Before Gophers Make Third Comeback

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Goucher overcame a pair of one-goal deficits, but when Ursinus went ahead for a third time tonight on an unassisted goal by Mike Jensen at 88:29, there was hardly enough time for the Gophers to mount yet another comeback. The Bears held on for a 3-2 victory and, in the process, ended their five-game losing streak.

SCRANTON, Pa. — A scoreless first half between Goucher and Scranton ceded a furious second period from which the Royals emerged with a 3-1 Landmark Conference victory by tallying the first goal and also the final pair.

Gophers Fall to Defending Landmark Champions in OT

KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Goucher made it through 90 minutes of regulation locked in a 1-1 tie with the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, but thanks to an unassisted goal by Nick Vogel 9:06 into overtime, the defending Landmark Conference champions emerged with a 2-1 victory over head coach Bryan Laut's Gophers.

Bay Delivers First Victory with Golden Goal at 104:54

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Goucher had to overcome a pair of one-goal deficits in regulation just to reach overtime and managed to get out of the first 10-minute extra session without surrendering a goal even though Washington (Md.) got off five shots. The Gophers were rewarded in the second OT for their efforts with their first victory of the season.

Hat Trick by McCracken Propels Green Terror to 4-1 Win

WESTMINSTER, Md. — Goucher, which once trailed 2-0, was down to McDaniel only 2-1 at the end of the first half this afternoon, but the Green Terror tacked on two more goals in the final period to come away with a 4-1 triumph over the Gophers.
