TOWSON, Md. - After playing through two overtime periods, Goucher College men's soccer (4-3-1, Landmark 0-0-0) and McDaniel tied up today's game 0-0 on Beldon Field.
Both teams played strong and clean defense, making scoring opportunities difficult for both teams' forwards.
In the first half, junior Konrad Bulanowski (Philidelphia, Pa.) threatened twice, but both shots were saved by Green Terror senior goalkeeper Nick Over.
For McDaniel, junior Greyson Brockbank came close to scoring on a header, but it went just wide of the right post.
During the second half, both teams had equal opportunities but came up short.
Goucher kept McDaniel shotless in both overtime periods. During the second overtime, Goucher had two back-to-back corner kicks as time was winding down. The first led to a header by sophomore William Jenkins (Fairfield, Pa.) that was saved by Over. The second led to a blocked shot by Bulanowski.
"We played well at times," said head coach Bryan Laut, "but we need to be more consistent. Now we're excited about heading into Landmark play this weekend."
The Gophers outshot the Green Terror 15-8 over the course of the match.
Goucher's next match-up is against Landmark Conference opponent Juniata College this Saturday at 4 p.m.
