COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Goucher (6-4-4, Landmark 1-1-2) traveled to Ursinus and following 110 minutes of soccer came away with a 0-0 tie.
Both teams had chances in the game with Goucher creating numerous opportunities at the end of regulation and overtime that could not find the net.
Junior goalkeeper Daniel Hendry (Lewisburg, Pa.) was solid again in the nets for the Gophers registering six saves to increase his season shutout total to five on the year. Hendry made a big save early in the match deflecting a long distance shot over the crossbar to keep the Bears off the board.
From there on out it was primarily Goucher with all of the dangerous scoring opportunities. First-year Luke Newsome (Washington, D.C.) hit the crossbar with just under 5 minutes to play and the Ursinus goalkeeper made a great double save on efforts by Senior Drew Phillips (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) and Junior Konrad Bulanowski (Philadelphia, PA).
Goucher finished the game with a 17-10 shots advantage including 8-6 shots on goal. Both teams finished the match with 4 corner kicks.
The Gophers return to Beldon Field this Saturday at 4 pm for a big upcoming Landmark Conference game with Elizabethtown.
