TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College Men's Soccer team (6-5-4, Landmark 1-2-2) lost to Elizabethtown College (8-5-1, Landmark 2-2-1) 1-0 Saturday evening.
During the early stages of the game, both teams had some scoring opportunities. The Blue Jays found the back of the net first at the 24-minute mark. Junior Gilbert Waso faked a pass, turned, and shot the ball into the upper 90 of the goal.
The Blue Jays made it difficult for the Gophers, allowing them to take only four shots in the first half and zero in the second. Toward the end of the game, Goucher came close but couldn't connect to score on any of the passing runs.
Goucher Junior goalkeeper Daniel Hendry (Lewisburg, Pa.) tallied five saves out of the six shots on goal he faced.
The Gophers return to play next week Saturday with kickoff against Landmark opponent Scranton at 4 pm on Beldon Field.
