BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher College played one of best defensive efforts of the season for nearly 100 minutes, but Juniata College came away with a 1-0 overtime win in Landmark Conference men's soccer action on Saturday.
Joe May (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) made two saves for the Gophers while Yaya Diabagate (Hyattsville, Md./International HS at Langley Park) and Pach Odolla (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College HS) each had two shots on the afternoon.
Odolla had his shot stopped by the Eagles netminder in the second minute and a header by Matthew Malhenzie (Etters, Pa./Red Lands) was stopped in the 66th minute. Diabagate had his shot stopped by the Juniata defense in the 79th minute.
Goucher had a corner kick and a shot in OT. Odolla missed wide in the 99th minute before Juniata registered the decisive goal at the 99:46 mark.
The Gophers return to action on Saturday at Susquehanna. Game time is 1 p.m.
