Gophers Pick Up 1-0 Win Over Juniata on Senior Day

TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore Jeremiah Odubade (Capital Heights, Md. / Fairmont Heights) scored with 11 minutes remaining to lift the Goucher College men's soccer team to Saturday afternoon's 1-0 Landmark Conference victory on Senior Day over visiting Juniata at Beldon Field.
- Aidan Spoor (Milton, Del. / Cape Henlopen) had the game's first shot for Goucher (6-9-2, 2-4 Landmark) in the 19th minute.
- Moments later, Spoor put a shot on goal that was saved by Juniata (4-7-2, 1-3-2) keeper Arun Subramanian.
- Emmet Young had the first Eagle shot of the game in the 24th minute.
- Xavier Dever (Hollywood, Md. / Leonardtown) pushed a shot high with just over eight minutes remaining.
- Jeff Castro (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) made his first save of the game for Goucher 4:43 before intermission.
- Zach LaFaver (Hanover, Pa. / South Western) pushed a shot wide three minutes into the second half.
- Dever had a shot blocked with just over 34 minutes to play.
- Castro made a save on a Melie Odigwe bid in the 67th minute.
- Gus Dalzell (Los Angeles, Calif. / Waverly) put a shot on goal in the 69th minute, with Submaranian coming up with the save.
- Odubade made it 1-0 when he headed home a right-to-left corner kick off the foot of Nick Sickler (Towson, Md. / Towson) with exactly 11 minutes on the clock.
- Goucher kept the pressure up with three shots in the final five minutes.
- Goucher outshot Juniata 14-5 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
- Odubade continues to lead the Landmark Conference with 11 goals and 24 points.
- Castro made a pair of saves en route to his fourth shutout of the season.
- Dever led the Gophers with five shots.
- Prior to the game, Goucher honored seniors LaFaver, Spoor, Andre Bisimwa (Glen Echo, Md. / Washington Waldorf School), Nick Haines (Taneytown, Md. / Francis Scott Key), Drew List (Towson, Md. / Calvert Hall) and Matt Sanders (Hampstead, Md. / Manchester Valley).
