TOWSON, Md. - Goals by Jeremiah Odubade and Adrian Mubiru lifted the Goucher College men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Notre Dame Maryland in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Beldon Field.
- Goucher's (2-0) Andres Aristimuno had the first shot of the game just over two minutes in that went wide.
- Aristimuno put a shot on frame in the 20th minute that was saved by Gator (0-1) goalie Mateo Gularte.
- Odubade sent a header shot wide just prior to the midpoint of the half.
- In the 25th minute, Odubade rang a shot off the right post, but collected the rebound and put it in to get the Gophers on the board.
- The Gophers' Noah Hanson had a shot go wide in the final minute.
- Just under two minutes into the second half Goucher increased its lead to 2-0.
- On the restart to the left of the Notre Dame goal, Will Frasier sent a service in that went off the back of Michael Adekanmbi and popped over to Mubiru, who lofted a shot that snuck inside the far left post.
- Rafael Berhanu had a shot in the 61st minute that was turned aside by Gularte.
- The Gophers had four shots in a two-plus minute span in the 63rd minute, with Gularte making a pair of saves.
- Gularte's final save came on a shot by Adekanmbi in the 76th minute.
- Goucher outshot Notre Dame 18-2 and had seven of the game's eight corner kicks.
- Gularte made six saves, while Goucher keeper Ale Sternini was not forced to make a save en route to his first shutout of the season and seventh of his career.
- Odubade led the Gophers with four shots.
- Goucher is off to a 2-0 start to the season for the first time since the 2013 season.
- Notre Dame is in its first season as a varsity program and playing its inaugural game. NDMU admitted male undergraduates for the first time in 2023-24.
