MADISON, N.J. - Host Drew University jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead as it downed Goucher College 6-2 in Landmark Conference men's soccer Saturday afternoon at Ranger Stadium.
- Drew (8-4-2, 4-2 Landmark) had the game's first shot 11 minutes in that was saved by Goucher (7-4-2, 2-3-1) goalie Ale Sternini.
- Yaya Diabagate had a header saved by Drew keeper Brandon Jachera just past the 14-minute mark.
- The Rangers took a 1-0 lead at 14:46 on a goal by Kevin Kiernan.
- Sternini had two more saves before Drew went up 2-0 on a penalty kick by Tino Puentes in the 38th minute.
- Jared Brown scored 20 seconds before halftime for the hosts to give them a 3-0 lead at intermission.
- Goucher cut the lead to 3-1 in the 71st minute as Gus Dalzell scored his first goal of the season, tapping in a pass from Michael Adekanmbi.
- The Rangers reclaimed a three-goal advantage a little under three minutes later as Matt Agudelo scored.
- Agudelo scored again to make it 5-1 before Eli Berkowitz made it 5-2 with just over five minutes to play.
- Berkowitz knocked in a short pass from Dalzell for his first collegiate goal.
- Drew closed out the scoring with 1:20 to go.
- Drew outshot Goucher 19-7, with both teams taking five corner kicks.
- Sternini made six saves for the Gophers, while Jachera recorded three saves.
- Dalzell's goal was his first since his rookie season in 2021, while he also notched his second career assist.
- Goucher heads to Catholic on Tuesday night for a 7 pm contest.
