TOWSON, Md. - Senior Bobby Beringer scored just 3:44 into the game and the Goucher College men's soccer team made it stand up as it picked up three key points in the Landmark Conference standings, edging Elizabethtown 1-0 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Beldon Fied. The win marked Goucher's first-ever victory over the Blue Jays.
- Beringer hooked up with fellow senior Jeremiah Odubade to give Goucher (8-5-2, 3-4-1 Landmark) a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute.
- Odubade touched a ball over to Beringer, who slid a low shot past Etown (7-6-2, 5-3) keeper Kelvin Del Cid, who had come out, and the ball trickled in before a Blue Jay defender could knock it away.
- Beringer had another shot saved by Del Cid in the 12th minute.
- Goucher goalie Ale Sternini made his first two saves in the 17th and 19th minutes.
- The Gophers outshot the Blue Jays 8-5 in the opening 45 minutes.
- Sternini made his first save of the second half in the 58th minute.
- Odubade sent a shot high in the 78th minute.
- A minute later, Sternini made a save on a bid by Pedro Vinent.
- Mehluko Letsoalo put a shot on frame with six minutes left that was stopped by Sternini.
