MADISON, N.J. – The schedule presented Goucher with another
difficult challenge today in Drew and the defending Landmark
Conference champions responded by pinning a 9-0 setback on head
coach Michael Vann's Gophers (0-3, 0-1 Landmark).
The closest of the three doubles matches was No. 3 where Sayed Saber and Victor Kolarov defeated Francisco Barrera (Wheaton, Md./Wheaton) and Jeff McLeod (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus), 8-5.
Barrera was the only Goucher player to win as many as five games in his singles match as he bowed to Alex Belfiore 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
The Rangers (3-1, 1-0 Landmark) won all six singles matches in straight sets. At first singles, Jeff Marshall was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Michael Brooks (Old Westbury, N.Y./Solomon Schechter) and at No. 3, Matt Brisotti turned back Steve Baum (Fallston, Md./Fallston) 6-0, 6-3.
