Baum Puts Up 7-5, 6-4 Fight Against McLaughlin at Third Singles


TOWSON, Md. — Although Steve Baum (Fallston, Md./Fallston) found himself in a highly competitive match at No. 3 singles, Goucher (1-6) dropped all six singles matches in straight sets during a 9-0 loss to Gettysburg this afternoon.

Baum was beaten 7-5, 6-4 by Mike McLaughlin of the Bullets.

At No. 1 singles, Michael Brooks (Old Westbury, N.Y./Solomon Schechter) suffered a 6-2, 6-0 setback to Chris Curran.

The Bullets (5-2) also prevailed in all three doubles matches, starting with an 8-3 win by Dale Beshore and McLaughlin over Brooks and Baum at No. 1.
