Collongette (Miami, Fla./Suffield Academy) walked off the court today at the conclusion of his 6-0, 6-2 win over Luke Schmidt from McDaniel at No. 5 singles, the Gophers and Green Terror were knotted up at 3-3. The next match to finish was No. 4 singles and a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory there by Daniel Csete (Miami, Fla./Brewster Academy) put the Gophers ahead overall for the first time.

TOWSON, Md. — When Goucher's J.D. Collongette (Miami, Fla./Suffield Academy) walked off the court today at the conclusion of his 6-0, 6-2 win over Luke Schmidt from McDaniel at No. 5 singles, the Gophers and Green Terror were knotted up at 3-3. The next match to finish was No. 4 singles and a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory there by Daniel Csete (Miami, Fla./Brewster Academy) put the Gophers ahead overall for the first time.
Another match that went to a third set was the next to conclude, and when it was Michael Brooks (Old Westbury, N.Y./Solomon Schechter) coming back from being down a set to prevail 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) over Dan Hovorka at first singles, the Gophers (1-1) had the point that clinched a 5-4 triumph over the Green Terror (0-2).
The Gophers trailed 2-1 following doubles play, getting only an 8-4 win out of Billie Weiss (Lutherville, Md./Dulaney) and Collongette at No. 2.
The first singles match to go final was No. 3 where Weiss knocked off Steve French 6-4, 6-1, giving Goucher its second point.
