Gophers Earn Sixth Win While Headed to Hilton Head
BRIDGEWATER, Va. — On the way to Hilton Head Island, S.C., for its Spring Break training trip, Goucher made a stop this afternoon to face Bridgewater in non-conference action. The Gophers resumed their journey after picking up their sixth win of the season, a 9-0 triumph over the Eagles.

Four of the six singles matches were over in two sets. Midori Fujitani (Tokyo, Japan/International School Bangkok) was the first player to finish as he placed a 6-2, 6-1 setback at No. 5 on Nathaniel Horner. Josh Goldberg (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) clinched the overall match when he completed his 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-4) victory over Dayton Carpenter at No. 6.
Joey Caracappa (Smithtown, N.Y./Saddlebrook Preparatory School) manned the No. 1 singles spot for Goucher and came away with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Kyle Hartsfield. Also winning in straight sets were Seth Hoesman (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) at No. 3 and Elliot Diehl (York, Pa./York Suburban) at No. 4.
Jack Hodges (London, England/Shrewsbury School) rallied from being down a set to earn a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) victory over Joe Dillenbeck at No. 2.
The Gophers (6-1) swept the three doubles matches for the sixth time in the seven matches they've played so far in 2015-16.
The first match head coach Brendan Kincaid's squad is scheduled to play after arriving in Hilton Head Island is against Baker at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
