Gophers Fall to Tommies in Spring Break Finale

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Goucher suffered a setback, 7-2, to St. Thomas in its final match of the team's Spring Break training trip.
- With a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Brady Radermacher at the No. 2 singles spot, Seth Hoesman (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) extends his singles' win streak to six matches. This is also the senior's ninth win of the season.
- Midori Fujitani (Tokyo, Japan/International School Bangkok) manned No. 4 singles for the Gophers (6-4) and earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Scott Wall, which was the second and final point on the day for Brendan Kincaid's squad. The victory is Fujitani's seventh in the 2015-16 campaign.
- Jack Hodges (London, England/Shrewsbury School) and Fujitani came the closest to victory in doubles play but the duo lost 9-8 (4) to Luke Elifson and Wall. The sweep for the Tommies (5-2) is only the third time all season that the Gophers got shut out in doubles competition.
Goucher will play three matches at home on Saturday, March 26. The first will be against Stevenson at 9 a.m.
