Gophers Sweep Elizabethtown, But Fall to Hopkins in Double-Header

In the victory, a first doubles team of first-year Tetsuya Ota (Wesley Chapel, Fl.) and sophomore Michael Herman (Prague, Czech Republic) won their match 8-1
A second doubles team of junior Josiah Meekins (Trenton, N.J.) and junior Elliot Diehl (York, Pa.) won their match 8-5.
Finally, a third doubles team of senior Josh Goldberg (Centreville, Md.) and senior Jake Brazeau (Greenville, S.C.) won their match 8-0.
In singles action, at number one spot, Ota beat Elizabethtown's Ryan Caris 6-2,6-2.
In the second spot, senior Jack Hodges (London, England) defeated Tyler Spinello 6-0,6-1.
Sophomore Slade Dumas (Great Falls, Va.) swept Tristan Boheim 6-0,6-0 in the third singles spot.
Meekins came in the fourth spot for the Gophers, beating Nick Strobel 6-4, 6-1.
Senior Britton Shortle (Winter Park, Fl.) also swept his match-up, defeating Mike Ryzuk 6-0, 6-0.
Finally, in the sixth singles spot, first-year Daniel Kim (Arlington, Ma.) beat out Alec Schreider
7-5,6-2.
The Gophers return to play quickly, as they host Moravian College and SUNY-Oneonta tomorrow afternoon at 12 pm and 3 pm.
