ORLANDO, Fla. - The Goucher College men's tennis team opened its spring break trip with a 7-2 setback to Trinity (Conn.) College at the USTA National Campus.
- Goucher (2-3) earned a point at No. 1 singles as Brian Kane (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Select) and Omosesan Adebamgbe (Philadelphia, Pa./Lower Merion) won after a Trinity (1-1) player retired due to injury.
- Jackson Beam (Knightdale, N.C./Knightdale) and Calis Nguyen (Houston, Texas/School of the Woods) battled before dropping an 8-6 decision at No. 2.
- Beam picked up his second point of the day at No. 6 with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 triumph.
- Nguyen dropped a tiebreaker in the first set at No. 5 and fell 7-6 (9), 6-3.
- Joshua Noel (Ennis, Texas/Ennis) dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision at No. 4.
- Beam picked up his first collegiate dual match singles victory.
- The setback snapped a two-match Gopher win streak.
- Goucher is in action twice on Wednesday at the USTA National Campus, facing Oglethorpe at 11:30 am and St. Ambrose at 4:30 pm.
