TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 Landmark Conference victory over Elizabethtown College Saturday afternoon at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
- Goucher (5-5, 2-0 Landmark) dropped just three doubles game against the Blue Jays (0-5, 0-3).
- Angel Cerpa (El Paso, Texas/Americas) and Joshua Noel (Ennis, Texas/Ennis) were 8-0 winners at No. 2.
- Ryan Wartenberg (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) and Zach Klein (Bethesda, Md./Bullis) prevailed 8-1 at No. 3.
- Brian Kane (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Select) and Omosesan Adebamgbe (Philadelphia, Pa./Lower Merion) won 8-2 at No. 1.
- Kane swept No. 1 singles, prevailing 6-0, 6-0.
- Noel was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at No. 2, while Calis Nguyen (Houston, Texas/School of the Woods) won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.
- Jackson Beam (Knightdale, N.C./Knightdale) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, while Wartenberg was a 6-0, 6-1 victor at No. 5.
- Klein won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
- Beam won his fifth straight singles match and improved to 7-1 on the season.
- Beam and Nguyen upped their doubles mark to 5-2, while Adebamgbe and Kane are now 6-3 in dual match doubles play.
- Goucher has won two straight and three of four.
- Goucher is in action twice at home Sunday, facing Moravian at 11 am and Harford Community College at 4 pm at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
