Naftoly, Cerpa Take Points from Virginia Wesleyan

SALISBURY, Md. - Gabe Naftoly and Angel Cerpa posted singles victories for the Goucher College men's tennis team as it fell 7-2 to Virginia Wesleyan University in a match played at the Salisbury University Indoor/Outdoor Tennis Center Saturday evening.
- Virginia Wesleyan (3-2) swept all three doubles matches from the Gophers (2-2).
- Unai Laguardia Alvarez and Tadeo Asprella battled at No. 3 before dropping an 8-5 decision.
- At No. 2, Naftoly downed his Marlin opponent 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
- Cerpa was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 5.
- George King battled before dropping his match at No. 6 6-4, 6-3.
- Goucher will face host Salisbury on Sunday at 11 am.
- The Gophers' spring home opener is set for Wednesday, when it is slated to take on Kutztown at 10 am and St. Mary's (Md.) at 4 pm.
