Martin Breaks Record He Set as Freshman in 2007
TOWSON, Md. The only senior on Goucher's 2010 roster broke the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase he established as a freshman back in 2007 at today's Goucher Track & Field Classic.

TOWSON, Md. — The only senior on Goucher's 2010 roster broke
the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase he established as
a freshman back in 2007 at today's Goucher Track & Field
Classic.
Zach Martin (Victor, N.Y./Victor Central) was runner-up in the event with his time of 10:19.63, which eclipses the 10:26.49 he recorded on April 21, 2007, and stood as the fastest in he history of Goucher's outdoor track and field program until today.
Martin also placed second today in the 5,000-meter run (16:28.99).
Steven Tenure (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury) and Adam Scipione (Wallpole, N.Y./Huntington) both placed first in an individual event. Tenure was the first to cross the finish line in the 400-meter hurdles as he completed the event in :58.75; Scipione was the top performer in the 1,500-meter run and his winning time was 4:17.20.
Scipione was also runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:09.17).
Tenure and Scipione ran the first two legs and Owen Lehmer (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) and Phelan Shea (Cambridge, Mass./Oliverian School) the final two on Goucher's entry in the 4 x 400-meter relay that placed second behind Hood with its time of 3:40.68.
Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) was runner-up in the pole vault (13-feet, 5.25-inches).
The Gophers scored 87 points in the meet, good for fourth place in the final team standings.
