Men's And Women's Swimming And Diving Teams Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Goucher College men's and women's swimming teams have been named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the fall 2020 semester. The Gopher men's swimming team boasted a 3.23 grade-point average, and the Blue and Gold women's swimmers registered a 3.50 grade-point average for the fall semester.
"I am proud of our teams' hard work in their courses, especially under these virtual times during the COVID pandemic," said men's and women's swimming head coach Tom Till. "Our Student Athletic Mentors (S.A.M.'s) run the team study halls and really help connect our swimmers to the resources they need. To do that virtually was a challenge, and that makes this honor mean so much."
Goucher was one of more than 450 schools to receive the award for the spring semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their spring grade point averages. To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
